EFDSC Welfare/Safeguarding Support
EFDSC’s Welfare Officer is the first point of contact for any swimmer, volunteer, parent, guardian or club staff member who would like to raise a concern about child welfare, potential or alleged abuse. If you are not sure if you need to raise a concern, please contact the welfare officer to discuss the matter.
EFDSC Welfare Officer
Our club Welfare Officer is Helen Gore, with Helen supported by Lorna Shemmings. Helen/Lorna can be contacted via the club welfare email address: [email protected]
Welfare Officers are separate from club committees and staff. Welfare Officers always act in the best interests of the child at the club, putting their needs above others and the club itself. All welfare matters will be dealt with sensitively, with information only being shared on a “need to know” basis in the interest of the child.
Swim England “Wavepower”
Epping Forest District Swimming Club fully adheres to the Swim England “Wavepower” 2024 Swim England Safeguarding Policy. You can read this policy on the Swim England website https://www.swimming.org/swimengland/wavepower-child-safeguarding-for-clubs/
